In all likelihood… if he gets caught… his bond will be IMMEDIATELY revoked…. and he will spend each and every day between now and the date of his trial (which could be 4 months away) in a county jail cell.

Not to mention the fact that “bond jumpers” have created an entire industry (they are called bounty hunters)…. to make sure that the person who fronted the bond gets their money back…. and your friend goes to jail until his trial.

I would say… not worth the risk.

Release on bond is a privilege afforded to “alleged” criminals… jumping bond makes him a GUILTY of a new crime (and maybe the original charge too) criminal.
